Starla Jackson’s journey into the film industry began in 2016 when she joined the production team of Antoine Fuqua’s eOne tv series “ICE’’ as a payroll accountant. Over the years, Starla’s dedication, hard work, and talent have led her to climb the ranks in the accounting office within major movie studios, including Paramount Pictures, AppleTv+ and Netflix. She has earned the role of Production Accountant where she has handled budgets and other financial aspects of numerous large budget film projects.
Starla’s passion for the arts goes beyond the confines of an office. In her spare time, she immerses herself in the world of music as an avid DJ. Her love for vinyl records has developed her skills as a DJ and taken her across Canada, the United States and Mexico. Driven by her desire to intertwine her two passions, she delved into writing and directing, bringing her artistic vision to life on the screen.
In her directorial debut, “Mum’s the Word (2023),” Starla showcased her directorial prowess and storytelling skills. Collaborating with talented actors such as Emily Tennant, she crafted a compelling short film. Her unique perspective and ability to capture authentic emotions on camera has opened doors to new opportunities in the industry.
