Alexandra Paglieri is a 3D character animator from Florida, with a BFA in Animation at Florida State’s College of Motion Picture Arts. Alex has written and directed two animated short films, ‘Debris’ and ‘Starborne.’ Alexandra has a background in theater performing arts, singing, digital painting, and writing. Given her theater arts background, Alex enjoys centering her films around strong performance and character-driven narratives. She has a flare for large science fiction films, with intense emotion to captivate her audiences. Outside of filmmaking, Alexandra enjoys reading, playing tennis, and singing whenever she gets the chance.
After briefly directing in the realm of Science Fiction in past works, I knew I wanted to dive deep into this genre. ‘Starborne,’ is a Sci-Fi Action/Adventure combining elements of media that I love. It uses the tropes of ‘Indiana Jones’ and ‘Tomb Raider,’ as well as the likes of ‘Aliens’ and ‘Star Wars.’ This film is a love letter to those who love the big, bold, fun, and a little bit of 80’s rock!
