Director Biography - Holly Shaw

Before finding her voice in stand-up comedy, Holly Shaw spent a lifetime on stage, T.V. and film as an actor, professional dancer and finally a speaker, coach and hypnotherapist to performing artists: past credits include starring in an ABC Afterschool Special at age 16, hosting a UK TV show, the Edinburgh Revue at 23, and dancing with the Pacific Symphony Orchestra at 33. After completing her first lengthy video project in 2012 called 365 dances, wherein she filmed herself making a new dance every day for an entire year, she fell in love with the research of the creative process itself and now spends much of her time writing, performing and facilitating “creative laboratories” for artists to develop their work as in her ongoing Comedy Lab workshop.

She is the author of the Amazon bestselling book, The Creative Formula, a regular teacher at SAG/AFTRA's conservatories in SF as well as LA as well as the host of the award winning Performers & Creators Lab Podcast, and performs stand-up comedy regularly in and around the Bay Area having been featured at Cobb’s Comedy Club and Tommy T’s. Her stand-up comedy is the outlet for her inner “nasty woman” and it’s there that she finds herself on a quest for a lightworker worthy message inside (sometimes) dirty and relatable jokes.
