Director Statement

As you advance into your thirties there is an increasing awareness of a life’s story taking shape, the near-endless possibilities of earliest adulthood beginning to tangibly narrow. This awareness can bring with it a lot of pressure. It can also lay bare the messiness of how you arrived at this place in your life, for better or worse. You can look back and see how so much has hinged on not-fully-informed decisions, chance, circumstance, timing. In Éabha and Dan’s case, a breakdown in communication between them led to a small misinterpretation which totally altered the course of both of their lives. Such moments are present in all of our stories, and ‘Staggered’ is about what we do with them.
