Director Statement

As filmmakers, our passion lies in crafting narratives that delve into the gritty and dark dimensions of life. "Spring Is Passing" is a character-driven short film set in a world defined by crime, despair, and fear. Our short film provides viewers with a window into the harsh realities confronting those who find themselves on the wrong side of the side.

This project was shaped by films that impacted us greatly, such as "Leon the Professional," "The Third Man," and "Le Samouraï." These films, with their nuanced storytelling and compelling characters, have inspired us to tell a story that explores the gray areas of life and shows the complexities of the human experience.

In terms of visual aesthetics, we deliberately chose a high-contrast black-and-white palette to symbolize the stark contrast between good and evil, and the shades of gray in between. This intentional visual language serves as a metaphor for “Spring Is Passing”, a thematic exploration into the complexities of morality and the human condition.
