Director Biography - Hera Khanmirzaei, Amirhosein Saqafi

Hera Khanmirzaei
I'm an Iranian 20-year-old film student at Tehran University of Art. My main interest is filmmaking, and I work as screenwriter, director, and editor. I've directed short films and documentaries so far. I'm joyful and hopeful in this extraordinary journey.

● Born on 16 February 1994, in Tehran, Iran.
● Being educated in primary and secondary school in Mathematics
and physics 2012.
● Being student of Urban Engineering in Tehran University of Art
from 2012 to 2014.
● Professionally studying and doing Acting from 2013 till now on, presented in world film festivals.
● Professionally active in cinema production, being director first
assistant, costume group, and set group, 2013-2018.
● Professionally editing short films, and documentaries, 2015 till now
on.
● Assistant Editor to Bahram Dehghani in Saeed Roustaei's "Leila's Brothers" premiered in Cannes Film Festival 2022.
● Having a BA in Cinema at Tehran University of Art 2014-2018.
● Certificated with 36 th FIFF Talent Campus 2018
● Having an MA in Dramatic Literature at Tehran University of Art
2018-2021.
● Founding the first low (&no) budget short film event in Iran 2019.

Director Statement

The film uses a specific visual design in cinematography, acting, scene, and costume, to get a rare atmosphere to narrate an unusual "expectancy" of a mother and a father who are waiting for their dead son who had gone to war. Everything's felt dead now.
The death toll of a war has never been real; Every bullet kills more than just one man.
