Spring

Project “Spring” tells 14 stories of people who find themselves in unexpected and unusual circumstances. They live the grief of the Covid-crisis and the joy of themselves in a new dimension of self-isolation.
The film speaks about people and about that new, interesting and even pleasant that they are able to take out of this difficult time. 14 documentary sketches add up to a single picture of an optimist in quarantine.

Director Statement

I’ve always been inspired by those who emerge victorious even from the most difficult situation or who can look at troubles from a different angle and then smile. This spring, one way or another, we all passed the test of strength - there is no one I know who would not recall quarantine as a kind of test, a significant stage in life. Some during this period envisioned himself as a hero of a film, helping people, others used this time as a creative kick, some dramatically changed their occupation, the rest relished the loneliness - there were lots of such stories around us, and we decided to make a film about this. In a necessity of acting quickly, together with other directors and producers we composed a generalized picture which now we watch with a taste of nostalgia – as we were counting on this then.
