When you enter the Spotlight Screenplay Competition, you put your script in the running for a $5,000 grand prize, a one-year ISA CONNECT membership, and meetings with industry professionals that could launch your career.

To enter, send us an original feature script in any genre. Screenplays should be between 90 and 130 pages. You must own the sole rights to the story.

There can be only one winner, but the Spotlight Screenplay Competition offers valuable incentives to all entrants:

25 semi-finalists will enjoy an honorable mention in Script Magazine and an annual membership to ScreenwritingDirectory.com.

10 finalists will score a consultation with a ScriptXpert Story Coach, a one-year ISA CONNECT membership, and exposure to over 200 industry professionals who might be moved by their work.

One grand prize winner will receive $5000 and have their loglines shared with the execs from more than 20 top industry companies. At companies' request, meetings will be booked with the winner to discuss the future of their screenplay.

The guidelines below comprise the rules for the Spotlight Screenplay Competition. Any submission that does not comply may be disqualified.

The Spotlight Screenplay Competition is open to any individual 18 years or older at the date of entry. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED OR RESTRICTED BY LAW. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. International submissions are accepted.

Entries for the Spotlight Screenplay Competition may only be submitted online, and by the contest deadline. Scripts or applications printed on paper will not be accepted.

Submissions must be the original work of the applicant and screenplays should be between 90-130 pages

Applicants may submit multiple entries. Each submission requires an individual application, payment, and script file.

Scripts authored by two people are accepted. Only one entry fee per script is required. However, the prize package is only good for one person.

Scripts should be written in English. Accepted electronic file formats include .PDF, Final Draft formats (.FDX or .FDR) and Movie Magic Screenwriter (.SCR).

You may include a title page with your contact information, however this is not a requirement.

Entries will not be returned. Please retain a copy of any materials submitted to the contest.

Entrants retain all rights to material submitted to the contest.

By entering the contest, you declare that your entry is your original work, and does not in any way infringe on the copyright of any other.

The winner is chosen based on the overall merit of the script, as decided by the contest judges. These judges reserve the right to not grant any prize and/or award.
