Splinter

2 crooks rob a bank and flee with the money, splitting up to avoid getting caught. Upon arriving, Eve and Janelle, who have a bad history, split the money up and are left with 1 dollar remaining. Eve decides to keep the last dollar for herself, upsetting Janelle, which upsets Janelle causing Eve to pull a gun on Janelle, who returns the favor. They enter a standoff with each other, unrelenting in their desire for the last dollar. Mark, Janelle’s on and off again boyfriend, shows up and joins in the 3 way standoff. At the end, unable to back down or unwilling to, they all shoot each other. Janelle then murders Eve for retribution and escapes with the money as the cops close in...

Director Biography - B.K. Schnaare

Director, writer Brian Schnaare has always been fascinated by moving images and how the world is represented through this lens. The interest was cultivated during his teenage years and further developed when began his filmmaking journey at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee from which he graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Film.

Brian mainly works in experimental, narrative, and documentary formats but is always searching for new endeavors. His inspirations run from personal losses, the environment, and the human experience both good and bad. His work has been shown in the Milwaukee Film Festival, Zuma Festival, amongst others. Brian has worked professionally on an Art Shay documentary as an associate editor, which will air on Netflix and also assisted editing Milwaukee Pridefest trailers.

Currently, Brian lives in Chicago with his family and is in graduate school at Columbia College Chicago. He has worked on several graduate films so far and has a few more in the pipeline along with the shooting of his thesis film.
