È dedicato al concetto multiforme delle “identità differenti” il concorso di cortometraggi Spi Stories 2023. Il bando è promosso dallo Spi Cgil e dalla casa editrice LiberEtà ed è giunto alla undicesima edizione.

Questa volta i partecipanti sono chiamati a indagare un tema – l’identità – che proprio nel momento in cui indica qualcosa di stabile, di permanente, si definisce in maniera compiuta soltanto se osservato anche nella sua costante evoluzione, nel suo continuo, anche se lento, mutare. Un misto di “essere” e “divenire” che si costruisce anche sulla percezione che l’altro ha di noi.

Identità individuale e identità di gruppo, quindi, ma anche identità di genere, sessuale, culturale, religiosa, storica, politica, sociale, digitale: le parole per raccontare le “identità differenti” sono potenzialmente infinite. Come esseri umani siamo da sempre il risultato di tante unicità e tante identità.

La globalizzazione, l’immigrazione, la contaminazione di tradizioni e costumi differenti nella società, vivere e diventare adulti in comunità multietniche sono fenomeni che ci ricordano che siamo parte di una rete di interdipendenze che ci lega gli uni agli altri, alle altre specie e al pianeta nel suo complesso.

Al concorso si può partecipare inviando un video della lunghezza massima di dieci minuti, realizzato non prima del gennaio 2022.

The eleventh edition of the international short film festival Spi Stories is dedicated to the many faceted concept of "different identities".
The contest is promoted by the publishing house LiberEtà with the Italian pensioners’ syndicate Spi Cgil.

Participants are requested this year to investigate a theme - identity. This may make you think of something which is concrete or permanent, but at the same time could be defined in a completely different way , if viewed as something which is in constant evolution or, in a continuous, albeit slow, change. It may involve a mixture of "being" and "becoming" that is also built on the perception that others have of us.

You may consider Individual identity and group identity, but also gender identity, sexual, cultural, religious, historical, political, social or digital. Words used to explore the "different identities" are potentially infinite. As human beings we have always been the result of uniqueness, with potentially many identities.

Globalization, immigration, the contamination of different traditions and customs in society, living and becoming adults in multi-ethnic communities are phenomena that remind us that we are part of a network of interdependencies that bind us to each other, to other species and the planet as a whole.

Anyone can participate by making a video with a maximum length of ten minutes, made no earlier than January 2022.

The contest participants are invited to send their works by February 28th 2023.

Rules & Terms

La durata dei cortometraggi non dovrà superare i dieci minuti. La data di realizzazione dei lavori non dovrà essere precedente al gennaio 2022.

Qualora il cortometraggio proposto fosse ispirato ad un lavoro/prodotto già esistente nel panorama multimediale, si fa obbligo a registi e registe di citare l’opera presa come riferimento ed ispirazione.

Le opere corredate da: nome, cognome, indirizzo e breve profilo dell’autore, sinossi, recapiti dovranno pervenire via mail a multimedia@libereta.it (indicare in oggetto “Spi Stories 2023”) entro e non oltre il 28 febbraio 2023. I cortometraggi potranno anche essere caricati sulla piattaforma Filmfreeway.

Le opere saranno prima visionate da una giuria composta da esperti, rappresentanti dello Spi Cgil e di LiberEtà. Una giuria tecnica selezionerà in un secondo momento le tre opere che verranno ritenute capaci di rappresentare nel modo più congeniale spaccati o particolari aspetti del tema del concorso.

Le tre opere finaliste saranno premiate nel corso della giornata dedicata al Premio LiberEtà, in data da definire, comunque entro dicembre 2023. L’autore dell’opera prima classificata riceverà un premio di tremila euro; il secondo e il terzo classificati riceveranno un buono tecnologico.

LiberEtà e gli organizzatori del concorso si riservano la facoltà di promuovere la programmazione dei cortometraggi presso le strutture Spi Cgil e nei luoghi che riterranno opportuni secondo le modalità che saranno ritenute idonee dalla casa editrice, previo preavviso.

Resta inteso che gli autori delle opere partecipanti al concorso riconoscono agli organizzatori tale facoltà. E quindi inviandole ne rilasciano liberatoria anche per usi televisivi e web, per quanto riguarda i cortometraggi, per pubblicazione su web e per le  iniziative che noi, i nostri abbonati e le strutture afferenti al Sindacato dei pensionati italiani della Cgil vorranno organizzare dal vivo nelel diverse regioni d'Italia.

Gli organizzatori informeranno i partecipanti su data e luogo della programmazione delle opere e dell’assegnazione dei premi.

The duration of the short films should not exceed ten minutes. The date of completion of the works should not be earlier than January 2022.
If the proposed short film is inspired by a work/ product already existing in the multimedia world, directors are obliged to cite the work they have used as reference and inspiration.
The work must be accompanied by: name, surname, address and brief profile of the author, and synopsis. Contact details must be sent by mail to multimedia@libereta.it (indicated in the subject line by the heading "Spi Stories 2023") no later than 28 February 2023. Short films can also be uploaded to the Filmfreeway platform.
The works will first be viewed by a jury composed of experts, representatives of the Spi Cgil and LiberEtà. A technical jury will later select the three works that are considered the best representation of the theme of the competition.
The three finalists will be announced during the day dedicated to the LiberEtà Prize, on a date to be defined, but no later than December 2023. The author of the winning piece of work will receive a prize of three thousand euros; the second and third placed entries will receive a technology voucher.
LiberEtà and the organizers of the competition reserve the right to promote the programming of short films at the Spi Cgil facilities and in places, and in the manner deemed appropriate by the publishing house. Prior notice will given, if this occurs.
Authors of any participating entry must acknowledge this right of the organizers. Also, by submitting entries, they are agreeing for their work to be released for television and web uses, as short films, for web publication and for initiatives that we, our subscribers and anyone related to the Union of Italian pensioners of the CGIL will want to organize live in the different regions of Italy.
The organizers will inform the participants of the date and place of the programming of the works and the awarding of the prizes.
