Spell Out

The beach is visible from the windows of the abandoned house. A plastic drumwashed ashore and wastewater polluting the sea. The plastics we produce from fossilsthreaten all life. News headlines and research reports are heard. The beach is full of plastic garbage. But these are ordinary things that everyone knows. It contains scenesthat are weird though. Refrigerator, shoes, slippers, a shot dolphin cub. How all thisgot here, how it fell into the sea is inexplicable. Fishermen are hunting garfish withtheir fishing rods. Most of the materials they use are plastic. They throw plastic intothe sea. They use the tails and mussels of the fish they catch as bait. 1 out of every 2fish caught carries microplastics. People eat fish, so they eat plastic.
