Sparky the Hummingbird is an original cartoon I created during my senior year in Coronado High School. During my spring break of 2012, I was at Palm Springs with family. When visiting a mall, I saw a yellow hummingbird flying so close to me near a fountain he never flinched from me. I was very intrigued having my most favorite bird flying so close to me, it gave me the idea of creating him. Since then, I made student projects for my school's film festival, I earned 3 awards for best Animation, Best Sound Editing, and Audience choice. "Follow the Mountain" is the 4th installment of the same character interacting with human characters inspired by my personal experience with the same bird I met.

Production of Sparky the Hummingbird lasted for 14 months since January 2019. I was only a one man team working on everything in the project. From Script writing, to story boarding, from rough animation to background designing. My own pride was rough on me but I needed to reimagine what Sparky should be for a larger audience.
