Space Command - Pilot

Space Command is an epic science fiction series offering a hopeful vision of the future and spanning two centuries of Man’s exploration and colonization of space.

In our first adventure, we meet Captain Jack Kemmer (Ethan McDowell) as he rescues exo- archaeologist Vonn Odara (Mira Furlan) on Mars. Synthetic Human Dor Neven (Doug Jones) joins them on what appears to be a routine mission.

Marc & Elaine Zicree have written and produced hundreds of hours of TV series, pilots, and feature films for most of the major studios and networks including MGM, Showtime, Discovery, Walt Disney Studios, FOX, Sony, Warner Bros, and many more!

Among their credits are classic episodes of Star Trek: The Final Generation, He-Man, Forever Night, The Real Ghostbusters, Caption Power, and others.

Marc and Elaine’s work has been nominated for the Hugo Award, American Book Award, Humanitas Prize, Nebula Award and Diane Thomas Award, and has won the prestigious Hamptons Prize, TV Guide Award, Rondo and Saturn Awards. In 2014, Marc was named a Writers Guild Diversity Honoree.

Director Statement

As a kid I loved STAR TREK, TWILIGHT ZONE, OUTER LIMITS, FORBIDDEN PLANET and grew up to write for such great shows as STAR TREK – THE NEXT GENERATION, DEEP SPACE NINE, BABYLON 5, SLIDERS and more.

I often hear fans say, “Why are there so few good sci-fi shows on TV, and why do so many go south?” I can tell you – frankly, most of the network suits just don’t get it.

But we do, as fans.

So when I recently got the idea of creating a new show inspired by the sense of wonder and possibility science fiction gave me as a kid, I realized I didn’t need a network or studio to make my dream come true -- just us, just the fans.
