I have always been seeking an opportunity to make a film about death. I did not mean to look at it as an unfortunate happening. Even though it is bitter and painful in man’s eye, per se. especially if it happens to our beloved ones. But it always concerned me that why we are ignorant of it most of the times, while we know that sooner or later it will come to us for sure. What if we consider death in every minute, and every second of our lives? In my opinion, no matter what we believe in, despite the bitterness of it in our minds, if we keep it in mind all the time, it can lead to fundamental changes in the moral aspects of our lives. Such an attitude towards death will bring us nothing but affection, kindness and peace. “Sourahil” screenplay is a free adaptation of a short story by the same title. Writing such a screenplay was both challenging and enjoying for me. I tried to put signs and elements in the story to create the actual and visual atmosphere.
I was lucky enough to have professional and motivated crew, while directing the film. The most challenging part of it was the actors’ performance, especially the child actor. Their performance was an essential factor in my storytelling. We tried to have concentrated rehearsals to reach the right mood of the text and dialogues. The presence of professional actors was such a great help to me. This film is a very important experience in my career and I cannot wait to see the audience’s feedback on it.
