Director Statement

"Soul Catcher" was filmed in the summer of 2011 as a Kickstarter trailer to raise funds to film the feature length script. I knew as soon as we wrapped that we had filmed way more that we would ever need for a trailer, and that there was enough for a short film with what we had captured.

When our very ambitious funding goal was not met, the project was shelved. It's haunted me ever since, and in 2018 I was determined to see if the footage held up with time, and if there was a short film to be found. The answer to both was yes.

For me, "Soul Catcher" is a testament of how challenging the film business is and also how important it is to keep striving for your dreams.
