Director Statement

The original concept for the film was to make a movie about female circumcision, early marriage , rape and domestic violence. That was of course a very vast obstacle but during writting we where able to really study and understand the executive producers of the movie and what they passionately stood and was fighting against VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN & GIRLS.

With that as the concept, the idea of having a character go through all these experiences and letting the film explore the emotional and psychological fallout on our lead character and her family unit became a veritable vehicle with which to tell the story cr&cin.

In telling this story we hoped to expand the boundaries of the Nigerian film industry in style, content and delivery. We are humbled that ANNA has already found its audience amongst female medical practitioners worldwide, nevertheless this film is for everyone.
