So, still digging?
Camille, a young French climatologist, has a string of research contracts at the French National Center for Scientific Research. But understanding how the climate itself works and only drawing curves announcing future catastrophes on a screen are no longer enough for her. She decides to get closer to the lands and the peoples, all as far away as close to her research laboratory. The journey she undertakes in China, Polynesia, Mali, and Ile de France where her laboratory is located, will allow her to discover that solutions to the climate crisis already exist. She will then be led to make a personal decision, unexpected but logical.

I am 34 years old and I have been working in the world of public scientific research for 10 years.
Research was a revelation for me when I was 21 years old. It was 2008 and I had just graduated with an engineering degree in environmental sciences. It was when I saw on television the sensitive and thoughtful words of glaciologist Jean Jouzel, Nobel Peace Prize winner, member of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, that I became aware of the stakes of climate change and the danger it poses to all humanity. I then decided to get involved in climate research... or rather for the climate.
After obtaining a PhD in 2013 on extreme climate events, I chose to continue the now increasingly classic path of a young researcher in the public sector.
However, my career path is distinguished by my aspiration to combine academic and non-academic research, to combine laboratory research and field research in interaction with
physicists, glaciologists, sociologists, geographers, biologists and economists and to collaborate in training courses, institutional or in interaction with society, on the themes of sustainability. This ambition has allowed me to situate myself at the crossroads of of fundamental research, applied research and teaching and thus to provide keys to understanding climate issues and the nature of the transformations to be implemented and in particular the attention paid to listening to local actors and transmitting knowledge to the widest audience.
It then seemed necessary to me to act by continuing the exploration of a new aesthetic of production and knowledge sharing already started with the realization in 2018 of my first feature film "Lovely Working for the New Moonlight" . My experiences as a researcher and documentary filmmaker have thus allowed me to make a reference film for the general public and for researchers torn between their scientific missions and their citizen's word in the face of the climate emergency, and whose youngest are delivered in addition to the precariousness of their imaginary.
A cinematographic narrative, based on solid knowledge, is the tool of a more interactive politics of aesthetics and a more positive aesthetics of politics. It enriches the public space, the space of what is common, a welcoming stage for encounters, sharing and discoveries, which invites the public to react as "spect-actors": the very intention of the cinema that "opens the eyes and makes the head rise".
The film "Alors tu trouves?" is based on a research of facts as well as on the human experiences of the researchers of the "Laboratoire des Sciences du Climat et de l'Environnement" (LSCE) and the "Laboratoire de Météorologie Dynamique" (LMD). This view is therefore both that of a young researcher who is fulfilling himself as a researcher but also that of a director for whom the transmission of knowledge needs emotion.
This point of view can offer a better understanding of "indisciplinary" objects, universes of uncertainties that are notably creation and, since Man has influenced it, the climate.
Universes that researchers can only try to master through interdisciplinary work and in the scientific and ethical perspective of the sustainability of developments. And when the characters, these "creators-actors", play their own role in a film about research, creation and climate, the images gain in authenticity and thickness of life.
It is then the narration of the sensitive that is filmed. "So , stil digging ? "enters into the intimacy of the doubts and sorrows but also the hopes of those who live. It recounts personal paths and collective stories that are both humble and strong, reveals their links, and sheds light on the challenges and the local cooperative and interactive paths to come, both for the climate and for research .
