Solo I Fantasmi Sognano
Film in episodes, but interior episodes, as poetry is.
This biographical documentary about the poet Mauro Macario intends to pacify and make fraternal written poetry and the poetry of images. Written poetry, as a dying art for the few (like all humanistic culture), and cinematic art, as a mass art, meet without clashing to create a Siamese harmony, in an expressive style that is surreal, oneiric, and symbolic.

From 1995 to 1999, he worked as an assistant to photographer and filmmaker Digne Meller Marcovicz, with whom he deepened his knowledge of video shooting techniques and photographic printing. He graduated in "New Technologies of Art" at the Academy of Fine Arts of Carrara.
Mauro Macario (Santa Margherita Ligure, February 21, 1947) is an Italian director, playwright, poet, and writer. During the 1963-1964 academic years, he attended the Drama School of the Piccolo Teatro in Milan. After an apprenticeship as an assistant director with Bruno Corbucci (10 films), he began his career in film, theater, and eventually television, producing music-based programs for Rai and Canale 5. Since 1990, he has been dedicated to poetry, essay writing, and fiction.
The filmmaking process on the set of SOLO I FANTASMI SOGNANO was spontaneous, proceeding with the same visceral and mysterious pull as the written poetry, with visionary ideas developed in the locations, sequence after sequence, almost unbeknownst to us. We hope for the mercy of the ghosts. After all, we loved them so much.
