Director Biography - Mikell Limbrick

Mikell Limbrick is the visionary CEO of iRise Filmz, a distinguished film and television production company based in Houston, Texas. His journey into cinematography began in 2010, capturing blogs, live concerts, and music videos. Mikell's exceptional talent and creative flair quickly made waves in the industry, particularly in music video production, earning him recognition across the city.

In 2013, Mikell transitioned to filming straight-to-DVD comedy concerts at the renowned Houston Improv, showcasing his skills in multi-camera shoots. Esteemed comedians such as DeRay Davis, Brandon T. Jackson, Cocoa Brown, and Ken Boyd entrusted Mikell to capture the essence of their stand-up performances.

Collaborating with acclaimed comedian and filmmaker Billy D. Washington, Mikell co-produced two award-winning short films: "Bro," which claimed the Best Foreign Short Film award at the African Oscars, and "The Pillow Case," which secured the Best Short Film award at the Houston Black Film Festival and was a finalist in the Gentleman Jack national short film competition. Mikell played various key roles in these films, including Director of Photography, Producer, Executive Producer, and Editor.

Alongside Carlos Wallace, President/CEO of Sol-Caritas LLC, Mikell has produced impactful projects like "A House Without a Father" and the award-winning "P.E.N.S. (Poetic Energy Needed in Society)," as well as several poetry short films.

Beyond his film endeavors, Mikell is renowned for his distinctive fashion sense, often serving as a wardrobe consultant for local celebrities and a model for national brands. His iconic dark glasses and meticulously coordinated outfits have become synonymous with his presence in the Houston film and fashion scenes.

Mikell's innovative thinking and strategic approach have enabled him to secure financing for numerous cinematic projects, making him a respected figure in the industry. His vast network and talent have earned him admiration and acclaim, evident in his popular Facebook group, 'The Thinkers Club,' where he leads discussions challenging societal norms.
