Soft Wax
Short video originally created for a "Portals and Rituals" themed art exhibit. "The process of changing an ostomy bag is a grotesquely intimate ritual with oneself that requires a confrontation of body horror. “Soft wax” refers to the barrier ring that rests between the intestinal portal and bag. The wax protects one’s skin from the inevitable burn of stray gastric acid leaking from the body and into the bag. Cleansing the skin where the ring will lay is an imperative part of ensuring the ritual’s success."
