Director Statement

The documentary proposes a subjective view of the pandemic world crossed by distance, where the current economic, medical, and political system of the country is exposed, revealing social contradictions. It is an observational search of the society victim of corrupt and critical realities, where inequalities between social classes show us how the covid-19 virus can be less lethal than social indifference.
The author's subjective gaze is reflected mainly in the off-voice, which will be the main thread throughout the piece, a reflective voice with metaphorical and scientific overtones, in turn the script will be built based on the testimonies of active participants, these voices will dialogue in line with the aforementioned voice-over.
There are initiatives based on the concept of social distancing, which refers us to quarantine and social isolation, these concepts are approached from their most literal and technical meaning, but they acquire more significant as the piece progresses, exploring the distance from other points of view that do not cease to be linked to the pandemic, it is then contemplated from concepts such as affective, spatial, temporal, technological, social, political distancing, among others, always maintaining the axis, the distance, the abandonment and indifference towards the most vulnerable classes in a pandemic context.
The sciences that study these new social phenomena are investigated, leaving evidence of the professional discourse in areas of epidemiology and sociology.
Mainly it takes shape in Bogotá, the capital of Colombia, in neighborhoods, hospitals, public transport, shelters, research centers, the streets, as well as in other regions affected by the conflicts dealt with, these images coexist with archive material referring to another era of society, where the pandemic did not exist, but other social realities. A parallel between times of crisis.
