So Sick

The story follows an alien like creature who searches for meaning through meaningless worlds. Even though they move themself forward through these worlds in search of meaning if they stand still, the world will push and pull to keep them moving in. Moving in an endless meaningless loop. The film is a critique of contemporary capitalist society and the amount of mental health problems it generates, especially for young people.

Director Biography - Emma Emily Daelman

I am a Belgian animator and animation filmmaker based in Brussels, currently studying at the Royal Institute for Theatre Cinema and Sound (RITCS) where I learn stop motion and 2D animation. As a visual storyteller, I like to experiment with different media. I am always learning about new materials and how to implement them. Besides materials I also continuously broaden my theoretical framework. I am constantly reading and watching films to broaden my horizons (Marxism, political economy and philosophy, Lacanian psychoanalysis…).
