So Good to See You

LOGLINE: After a chance encounter with the one that got away, Walter gets a second opportunity to show off a new version of himself.

SYNOPSIS: One spring morning, Walter and his girlfriend, Chelsea, walk through New York’s Central Park when the couple runs into Maeve, a college more-than-friend of Walter’s who’s now a successful independent filmmaker. When Maeve asks Walter what he’s up to, he lies and says that he’s writing a novel. Chelsea, unimpressed by his fib, storms off to work. This is his chance. He stalks Maeve outside the Met and, after a flirtatious back-and-forth, convinces Maeve to join him on his errand to the cobbler. When a bit of chemistry unexpectedly arise between Maeve and the cobbler, Walter realizes that he’s having deja vu. Maeve’s a flirt and this is her game. Walter over-asserts himself and impresses Maeve with his newfound confidence. The two share some roasted nuts on a park bench, and Walter seizes the opportunity to go in for a kiss. When Maeve recoils, he confronts her. Maeve crumbles and tells the truth. She’s broke, she got dumped, she’s not making movies anymore, and she’s moved back in with her mother. Walter fesses up that he’s not in fact working on a novel. No one is who they say they are, and some things are better left in the past.
