Director Statement

"Snow in August" is a short film created in 2022, inspired by the Japanese folk tale "Yuki-onna" (Snow Woman).

There are many legends of Yuki-onna (Snow Woman) in Japan. Many of them depict fleeting love. This film also depicts the fleeting love of a married couple.

In this film, the snow woman is not shown, but is represented by sounds and signs. I would be very happy if you could feel that.

I also hope that this film will spark your interest in Japanese folktales.
