Snow Exit
Synopsis: The year is 2050. Earth is in a state of collapse. A global computing system has been put in place to organize those who are left based on evaluations of human worth. Two women, both strong but not quite fitting into any algorithm for assignment, find themselves stationed together for observation and emotional readjustment.
This work is in response to the looming consequences of climate change and the isolation we have experienced in this pandemic. Snow Exit was created entirely on Zoom and the creators/performers were never in the same space together. Creating work through the medium of Zoom magnifies the feeling of floating that many of us have experienced during the pandemic , suspended in time and space with little control over our present or future. We wanted to create a short story that followed this feeling of disconnection and uncertainty, while also allowing space for the absurdity and humor that accompanies trying to find one’s way. Our two heroines are misfits who find themselves with no clear path forward, but they are not ready to give up. Their surprising friendship gives them the hope and courage to strike out on their own and see if life is possible outside the system.

The Raving Jaynes:Improvised Dance/Theater (Jamie Graham and Amy Larimer) is a highly physical improv duo that creates spontaneous theater for intimate spaces. Weaving together techniques from clown, dance and improv, the performers, Jamie Graham and Amy Larimer, play between mediums. Movement, text and sound are twisted together to transform what waits in the empty space into sweaty stories. They perform regularly at The People’s Improv Theater in New York City and have been presented at Mount Olymprov Improv Festival in Athens, Greece; La 2da Muestra Nacional de Improvisación Teatral/ImproTop in Tepic, Mexico; IMPRO Amsterdam; the Abundance Festival in Karlstad, Sweden; Big City Improv Festival in Toronto; Femprovisor Fest, in San Francisco; TCIF in Minneapolis; the ADaPT Festival in Santa Barbara; The Crisis Art Festival in Arezzo, Italy; The Comedy in Dance Festival at Triskelion Arts; Dancemopolitan at Joe’s Pub; Duofest in Philadelphia; The NYC Improv Festival; The Unscripted New York Improvised Theatre Festival, The Out of Bounds Comedy Festival in Austin, The District Improv Festival in D.C., Your Move in Jersey City and The Tank to name a few.
Due to the pandemic, like everyone else, our regular way of rehearsing and performing was interrupted. We decided to try something new! Through a series of experiments and improvisations we created the world of Amber and Vert. This is our first film together.
