Smith Mountain Lake Film Festival : Octoberfest

Welcome to the first Smith Mountain Lake Film Festivals Octoberfest. This is a 72 hour film festival and costume contest, going from the 29th through the 31st. Submit your home made Campy Halloween Film and come and enjoy an awesome, fun, and unique experience with us! We will also be doing a costume contest, so bring your game!

Each submission includes one free night at The Barn Lodge Farmstay in one of the small private rooms, where the event is taking place. If you want to book more than one night for the festival, please go to www.thebarnlodge.com to reserve your room. Space is limited, so reserve now! If you want to share your room and your queen bed with a second person, it's just $10 per day extra. If rooms are filled, we will allow you to extend your free night to either another festival, or to a non festival night. Message us with the fact that you have done a submission so that we can reserve a night for you. Keep in mind that while submissions include a free night stay, tickets to the film festival are sold separately at www.thebarnlodge.com for $25, which covers the entrance fee for all three days.

The Barn Lodge is a popular and unique hostel style BNB next to Smith Mountain Lake! You can also find us on airbnb. We have a natural outdoor amphitheater. We have it set up to allow people to listen to the movies through our speakers and through their own headphones for people who want to control their own volume.

The venue features 13 small private bedrooms with queen beds in each, along three family suites with shared bathrooms and kitchen. This is a hostel type setting with shared bathrooms and kitchen. We also have a set of 4 apartments that sleep up to 8 people each right across the street that can be reserved separately. So, it's going to be an awesome and unique communal experience that we plan to continue for many years to come!
