After 15 years working as a Director/DP, Dylan Wiehahn left the film industry to become a veggie farmer in Central Victoria, Australia. As shown in his new documentary 'Slow Going', Wiehahn has spent the last few years living close to the land, and making films for love, not money.
I started filming 'Slow Going' after living rurally for about 3 years. Living here was so different from anything I'd experienced before that I knew I had to share it if I could. I think it took that long to get a hint of the story too, because some of it is quite subtle. I didn't know it when we moved here but this land is unique, and I wanted to give people an opportunity to see that. My hope is that by following my journey they may come to similar conclusions about this place, mainland Australia and the future of life on this planet.
