Director Biography - Claudio Vidal

Claudio Vidal was born in Santiago, Chile. As a Graphic Designer and Visual Artist, he has developed a strong relationship with the image, interpolating photographic records with moving images, creating abstract worlds. His experimental work "Matadero" was selected in the 15th Juan Downey International Competition along with the Media Arts biennale of Santiago (2022).

Matadero was born under the eaves of reflection on personal processes of human becoming, and likewise, of becoming itself. To be able to visualize the ballast of the unresolved. To reflect the slow and heavy, to dream of the lightness of the freedom of being. To be able to observe the pain, visualize the path traveled and long for that turning point that changes everything again and again.
