Experiencing Interruptions?

Sky of Tides: Atla (Episodes 1-2-5)

In the fractured world of numen9, where oceans float in the sky and two factions stand on the brink of war, twins Atla and Kryll embark on a secret mission under the guise of a celebrity appearance with Atla’s best friend, pop star Yana. When a rebel unexpectedly tries to steal the show, Atla is forced to intervene.

Sky of Tides: Atla, set to release alongside the game Sky of Tides in 2025, follows Atla, a teenager with wealth, advanced technology, and political power. She faces a critical decision: stay loyal to the Chairman and keep fighting for the world's oppressor, or break away in pursuit of self-discovery, sacrifice, and true adventure.

Status:
The series is picture-locked with some final voice-over, sound, music, and mix to be completed. A final version will be available well in advance of the festival premiere, and we’ll provide it as soon as possible.

Transmedia Press Opportunities:
Sky of Tides: Atla is an animated series created in concert with the Sky of Tides narrative adventure-RPG video game, which is being produced by the same team (Lofty Sky Entertainment) and scheduled for release together in 2025. Among other distribution planned for the Atla animated series, for a limited time, it will unlock right inside the Sky of Tides game for players who beat the game and obtain the true ending. We believe this is an industry first.

Our unique approach to transmedia storytelling with Sky of Tides: Atla and Sky of Tides has already generated significant press interest, including recent coverage in VentureBeat, Licensing Magazine, and numerous others.

Director Statement

When a video game IP crosses over into film or television, it’s usually long after its initial release in the market. It’s also typically produced by a separate team or company.
The simultaneous production of the Sky of Tides: Atla animated series and the associated adventure-RPG video game Sky of Tides presented a unique opportunity for our creative team to explore the same rich world and characters across two distinct mediums and through the lens of two original protagonists – at the same time.
The broken world of numen9, with its oceans suspended in the sky and its radioactive wastelands full of monsters, presents a fascinating backdrop for the stories in both the game and the animated series. The writers of the game and series, The Pearman Brothers, delivered a host of unforgettable characters and an engrossing narrative drawing on the vivid world-building by Ukranian-Canadian creator Lina Skorbach. It doesn’t take long to feel the depth and originality of their creation, and an exceptional cast of voice talent quickly brings these characters to life. Voice recording sessions have rarely been so smooth or so much fun!
Atla’s story is a coming-of-age adventure exploring the difficulty of stepping outside society’s expectations when deep inside we know something isn’t right. It shows a teenager facing a world that pulls her in different directions and wants things for her that may not be in her best interest. We see how hard it is to step outside of our conditioning. But regardless of what we’re born into, there’s always the potential for humanity and growth. And some fun along the way.
