Sixth of June
Brought to life by a diverse group of filmmakers, including our Academy Award Winning Executive Producer, Ross Kauffman, and female-led producing team, Sixth of June is intended to spark a conversation.
Sainte-Mère-Église was ground zero on D-Day. For 75 years, people of all countries, races and faiths have gathered to commemorate those whose sacrifice changed the world. With few veterans left, who will preserve their legacy? Sixth of June is the story of why we remember and what we lose if we forget.

We appreciate you considering our film for your 2020 program. We would be honored to be a part of your festival.
Our short, experimental documentary (15m), SIXTH OF JUNE, is a thematic and emotional exploration of the D-Day commemorations in Sainte-Mère-Église, France. It is an urgent plea to realize that the boys who stormed the beaches and dropped from the skies in Normandy are now old men who are dying every day. What will we lose when all of these storytellers are gone? Have we learned anything? As a nation? As humans?
Sixth of June was brought to life by a diverse group of filmmakers, including our Academy Award Winning Executive Producer, Ross Kauffman, and female-led producing team.
We deliberately chose not to make a strong political statement with this film, but rather make a film that would resonate universally. Our intention was to honor the sacrifice of these dying heroes and remind us of a time when we were united. In that context, an overtly political angle seemed like a distraction to our greater message. Our goal is to spark a dialogue between people of every age and demographic - to inspire reflection that ignites humility and empathy, not only for those who lived through these events, but amongst one another.
Our hope is that this film garners the attention of festivals like yours, not only to support our efforts to educate people about this fading history, but to incite people to pay attention to the things we have in common, not those that divide us.
We hope you enjoy the film and look forward to hearing from you.
