Born in 1980, Israel. Nitzan is a director and screenwriter with a
background in advertising, design, and new media. He earned a B.F.A from the Film Department, Tel-Aviv University. His two short films "Hagar" and "Underwater" were officially selected for a number of major international film festivals. Currently, he is developing an original TV drama while promoting "Siren" - his third short film.
"Siren" ("Tzofar" in Hebrew) is a most deeply personal film. It deals with the subject of trauma on the battlefield and its silent part in Israeli society and culture.
As a former combat soldier and a family man, that himself continues to deal with PTSD, I felt I must make this film at any cost. Importantly it is a film that is certain to raise the universal subject of the costs and long term impact of survivors dealing with the invisible scars of trauma.
"Siren" premiered at 35th Haifa International Film Festival, The first and the biggest film festival in Israel.
Fun fact - Yuval Orr, who edited "Siren" and Ronen Nagel who designed and mixed the (amazing!) sound of the film worked together on "Skin" 2019 Academy Award Winner for Best Short.
