The Siouxland Institute of Film, Inc. and its creators have been working for 13 years to promote independent film in the tri-state area including parts of Iowa, South Dakota, and Nebraska. With over 160,000 people living in the immediate area and marketing to thousands more that live nearby, we work to bring in films throughout the year and host the Sioux City International Film Festival (formerly the Siouxland Film Festival). For the 13th year in a row, we will be bringing the community together, this year EXPANDING yet even further to FIVE days. Showings are all in downtown Sioux City. Sunday the 19th of February will be a Silent Film showing at the Orpheum Theater. Wednesday the 22nd of February will be documentaries at the Festival headquarters, the Stoney Creek Inn & Conference Center, in Downtown Sioux City. Thursday the 23rd of February will be a showing of "Short Shorts", films all 5 minutes or less, on the 24th a Horror/SciFI night both at Stoney Creek Inn. There will also be some afternoon encore showings during those days. Then on Saturday the 25th there will be two shows at the historic Orpheum Theater, a 2400 seat renovated performance hall. The afternoon showing will be for the Best of the Midwest, and in the evening a Festival Showcase. Submissions come from around the world, including of course the United States. It is an entirely "shorts" program, with a 30 minute limit (5 minutes for the Short Shorts). Prizes will awarded for the first place winner in each of the five showings.

Sioux City International Film Festival was one of the most attentive, welcoming festivals I've had the pleasure to experience. Highly recommend that other filmmakers submit.
