Brought to you from the minds behind the Love Horror Short Film Festival (established 2013), the Sacramento Horror Film Festival (established 2007), and Sinister Creature Convention (established 2015), comes a brand new horror short film festival! The Sinister Creature Convention will feature monster, creature, thriller, and other films from the various subgenres within horror. The annual Sinister Creature Film Festival will take place during the 7th Annual Sinister Creature Con on June 15th and 16th at the Scottish Rite Center in Sacramento, CA.

Rules & Terms
Entries must be original works. Entrant must have legal rights to film including licensing for music. Entrant gives permission to SHFF / Sinister Creature Con to exhibit film during the 2018 festival with no royalties expected. Films must be of a horror/ thriller/ slasher/ movie maniac/ science fiction nature. Documentaries are allowed if they document horror/thriller. Entry does not guarantee a spot in the final program. Each film will be reviewed and each filmmaker will receive feedback if requested. Short films will be reviewed 50% run time minimum. Feature films (NOT APPLICABLE) will be given a minimum of 30 minutes review time. If our judges feel your feature film is not right for our market after 30 minutes, the will cease the review process and reject the film. Prefer compressed MP4 formats for screening. We are not a DCP capable festival as of yet. Entry fees are NON REFUNDABLE. SHFF is hereby granted the right to utilize an excerpt from any film submitted and accepted for exhibition at the Festival for promotional purposes. The individual or corporation submitting the film hereby warrants that it is authorized to commit the film for screening, and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations. The undersigned shall indemnify and hold harmless SHFF from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos entered.
