Ravish Pathan is currently pursuing a post-graduate diploma in Direction and Screenplay Writing at the Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute in Kolkata. He completed his engineering degree and was born and raised in the small town of Buldana in central India. A passionate movie-goer from a young age, Ravish's decision to pursue filmmaking as a career was sparked by the immersive experience of Christopher Nolan's Interstellar. He now hopes to refine his craft at film school, preparing himself to push creative boundaries and tell unique stories when the time is right.
Sine Inverse X was created as a year-end Short Narrative Film project during my first year at film school. The film reflects the styles and storytelling techniques that influenced me throughout my initial year of study. At its core, it is an experiment with montage, where every shot is crafted and sequenced to drive the narrative forward—sometimes in harmony with the previous shot, and other times through contrast, to evoke a sensory experience. The film is built around a deeply personal story, with the emphasis placed more on how the story is told rather than the story itself. It is the result of meticulous decoupage and intercutting across three locations. With limited budget and resources, I hope the film achieves its goal of delivering an engaging and immersive sensory experience.
