Director Statement

When I was offered to direct "Sin Reversa" ("Deadlock") by my colleague and producer Paulo Fillion, I was immediately attracted because of the unusual filming style elaborated in the script and thought it would be a fun learning project. The visual effects added an extra flavour to the story. Together with my 2AD I worked diligently to get a feeling of hard reality with the actors.
Then behind it all, is the desire that the film could leave a "card" to some of all the young guys growing up in violent suburbs, in Latin America or elsewhere, who manytimes as the protagonist David, are confronted with choices that will define their future forever.
