The Silver Lake Picture Show is a free summer outdoor movie experience. Our goal is to screen short films by local LA filmmakers prior to an established, popular feature. We feel this is a great way to garner recognition for talented filmmakers while providing a guaranteed audience. The filmmakers have an opportunity to introduce themselves, introduce their work and tell us where we can find more of it.

We're happy to be free to submit to and free to attend.

The SLPS is now in its eighth season at the Sunset Triangle. What started as friends showcasing their films and screening their favorite movies has morphed into a popular community event that averages 500-1000 plus attendees per show.

Our 2019 Season of Feature Films is:

Selena – 6/21
Boyz n the Hood – 7/5
Coco – 7/19
The Big Lebowski – 8/2

IMPORTANT:

- Please tell us which of our films your short film would best be paired with.

- EMAIL a link to your short film to shortfilms[at]silverlakepictureshow[dot]com.

- Local LA Filmmakers only.

PASSWORD:
If you submit on FilmFreeway — it is important to us that the filmmaker is able to attend the screening because we want to connect filmmakers to their community in person. So please only submit if you or someone associated with your film is in the LA area and can attend the screening.

For this reason, the password to submit is: LA Filmmaker

The silver lake picture show was a wonderful experience. From communication once selected to the day of the screening it was one of the best experiences as a filmmaker!
