Crystal Loverro (formerly known as Crystal Tasber) was born and raised in Binghamton, New York. She graduated from Binghamton High School with honors and then started college at SUNY Cortland. She attended SUNY Cortland as a psychology student for a year before transferring to Binghamton University to major in pre-medicine and neuroscience.
Crystal needed to overcome several challenges, including poverty, trauma, and a visual disability known as septo-optic dysplasia, which has rendered her blind in her right eye since birth. Despite these challenges, Crystal has gone on to do remarkable things and defy the odds.
Crystal had plans to go to medical school and spent her free time volunteering at hospitals and shadowing doctors. She became an EMT-Basic and worked for Superior Ambulance Inc. before volunteering for Broome Volunteer Emergency Squad. She also worked as a research assistant in The Movement Disorders Institute at Binghamton University, where she researched Parkinson’s disease and L-DOPA Induced Dyskinesia. In 2017, Crystal graduated from Binghamton University with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Pre-Health.
Crystal was on her way to take the MCAT (medical college admissions test) and realized something was missing from her life. She felt like she was forcing herself into a conventional career and ignoring her love for the performing arts. After the passing of her Aunt Darlanne Fleugel, who was a well-known model and actress, Crystal decided to follow in her footsteps and become an actor and a model. Crystal is also heavily inspired by her favorite actor, Lena Headey. Between Lena Headey and her Aunt Darlanne, she felt inspired and motivated to chase her dreams.
Crystal Loverro’s acting career began in Binghamton, NY. She attended a film meetup at Broome Community College and made a few short films with local filmmakers in the area. Crystal moved to Portland, Oregon hoping to find a more active film scene to get credits and training before moving to a larger market such as Los Angeles. Crystal began training at The Actor’s Lab with Joseph Bertot and fell in love with the craft. She booked roles in films in the Portland area and continued coaching under Ted Rooney and Scott Rogers.
During the pandemic, Crystal transitioned to Los Angeles coaches on Zoom and has since taken classes with Howard Fine, Graham Shiels, Crystal Lowe, Killian McHugh, Marilyn McIntyre, and David Coury. Crystal has been in several films, including Friday the 13th Vengeance 2: Bloodlines, Blur (2021), and her most well-known short, Braces (2021). Braces was nominated for three awards and has gained festival recognition. Crystal wrote, directed, and co-edited her first short film, Sh*tscape: Who's Got The Flint? in June 2022.
Crystal Loverro relocated to Los Angeles, but also travels for work. Crystal is currently represented by Big Fish NW and Phirgun Mair in New Mexico and managed by Alexi Angelino with AKA Talent Management.
I just want to make people happy with stories they can relate to!
