Shobhana Padinjhattil K is an Indian Film director . Her first movie is Girl Friends . She was active in feminist groups and film society circles . She is active in a movement for independent film makers in India . (MIC) Conducted activities to get special preference for independent film by the Government of Kerala .Though financial support and marketing possibilities are very less , lots of independent films are made in India , Women film makers very less . She wanted to make films from he young. But financial circumstance and social conditions are very pathetic , she joined as a government librarian . Now at the age of 53, he first movie 'Girl friends' which depict the bold , contemporary women in India .

She has done some documentaries . The film ‘Girl Friends’ basically look into a group of girl’s life through a female gaze . Girl Friends provided her a chance to delve into themes that are close to her personal experiences and the worlds she had explored.
