Shobhana Padinjhattil K is an Indian Film director . Her first movie is Girl Friends . She was active in feminist groups and film society circles . She is active in a movement for independent film makers in India . (MIC) Conducted activities to get special preference for independent film by the Government of Kerala .Though financial support and marketing possibilities are very less , lots of independent films are made in India , Women film makers very less . She wanted to make films from he young. But financial circumstance and social conditions are very pathetic , she joined as a government librarian . Now at the age of 53, he first movie 'Girl friends' which depict the bold , contemporary women in India .
She has done some documentaries . The film ‘Girl Friends’ basically look into a group of girl’s life through a female gaze . Girl Friends provided her a chance to delve into themes that are close to her personal experiences and the worlds she had explored. These characters reflect the struggles, dreams, and resilience of women from diverse backgrounds, making this film deeply personal and meaningful for her as a first-time filmmaker .
