She's Great!

My inspiration for the film was every ‘Good’, ‘Fine’, and ‘I can’t complain’ response to ‘How are you?’. These answers ignore the complexity of the daily challenges in a person’s life. They are masks that society pressures us to wear. Removing them feels like risking the unacceptable: burdening someone with our true feelings, or just bringing down the vibes. I wrote this piece by reflecting on the moments where I wore a mask, suffocating under my hidden emotions, grieving for the genuine connections lost because I was too focused, or too exhausted, trying to keep mine on, and the relief of someone I love helping me remove it.
