Director Statement

The film shows the survival of some survivors and their descendants who were persecuted by Japanese sexual slavery during World War II. Among them, Luo Shanxue is the only one in China who is openly left behind by the Japanese army as a descendant of "comfort women" in China. In 1944, his mother Wei Shaolan gave birth to him after escaping from the Japanese comfort station, and for more than 70 years since then, he has been attracting strange eyes from people around him because of his identity as a "Japanese devil"; Wang Zhifeng and his son depend on each other and live on a meager income; Peng Zhuying was blinded by the Japanese army's poison gas bomb and made a living by fortune-telling; Zhuo Tianmei did not wait for the Japanese government's apology and passed away gloomily... In the decades after the war, when the victims are dying and their descendants are aging, will anyone remember the stories of their humiliation and damage when they all die?
