Sheheryar Kazi has been working professionally as a filmmaker for 10 years now. Based in Mexico, he specializes as an editor and Creative Director, editing hundreds of projects commercial and non-commercial. He keeps evolving his style in terms of editing but when he is shooting he always analyzes the shots he captures in terms of how the will be edited in the post.
At the age of 26, Kazi traveled from Swat to Karachi, where he worked on three films at the same time, one of them covered the theme, The Impact of Masculinity.
Kazi started a series called “Project Plus”, where I started creating vibrant content, the content we produced has successfully built us with a wide spectrum of fan base inside and outside of Pakistan. Then got the opportunity to work an NGO called Humans of Pakistan, as a videographer.
In 2017 he graduated with a 3.8 CGPA in my BSc(Hons) in Media Studies. Immediately he got a job with an organization called Naya Daur, a digital entertainment and news platform. where he was hired as an editor, however with time and through consistent performance, become in less than a year the senior editor, where he was not only editing the video packages but also supervising other editors and with that.
In 2019 He went to Malaysia and immediately had the opportunity to cover a personal event in Genting for Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay. After that, I then decided to give training workshops in different international schools, where I practically guided them as to how they can tell stories visually. Even during the pandemic, delivered an online workshop to Alice Smith International School in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
For Women’s day, he made a video on The Rape Situation, which was published for a digital platform called Feminista. And later worked on my first feature-length independent fictional comedy-drama film as an editor. With that, he also worked as a cameraman and an assistant director for a short document on motorsport in Malaysia.
Now he is just waiting for what new adventures does life brings in front of him.
