i'm shazim ali. currently i am pursuing bachelor of design in ux, 4th year. i began writing in 2018 and my pen name is ali. till last year, i used to write only sher, nazm and azaad nazm. i completed my first book named "alif" last year, which is yet to be published. i began writing my second book this year which is a fiction love story. exploring this genre enabled me to understand that i can write fiction as well. and since this realisation made want to make a film based on a fictional story written by me. following along this thought, i wanted to make something on "perspective". with enough pondering and wondering, "chashma" emerged as the title of the film and everyone on my team loved it too. at first, "chashma" was going to be a documentary but it ended up being a fictional story. I wrote a screenplay for the first time for a film and it made me happy beyond any words. for me, "chashma" is a story that emphasises on the individuality of each person and how each one of them holds a unique perspective; which is a beautiful thing. being open to new perspectives can teach you alot. personally, "chashma" is more like a film school to me. It has taught me so much and i am carrying these learnings in everything i do next. I want to tell as many stories that i can see around, through any medium and "chashma" is a testimony for my love for storytelling and more importantly, cinema.
