Sharveh

The weight had become too heavy for the earth to bear. She walked, but she did not take a step. She breathed, but her breath had lost its way. She lived, but she did not truly live. And over all the darkness, she cast an even darker shade. The color she longed for was something else.

Director Statement

The process of making the film Sharveh began for me at a point where I felt desperate at every dilemma I faced. One path was bad, the other even worse, and each choice seemed equally grim. I had to think long and hard until I could finally make a decision—decisions accompanied by deep and intense doubts, and which brought pain to both body and soul. Sharveh is the embodiment of those pains that lie behind the big decisions made by an independent woman from a tribe at the edge of the world.
