Experiencing Interruptions?

Seva

The short film is a lyrical collage on doing seva (selfless service) at the Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple) in the Panjabi city of Amritsar, India.
Anywhere around 80,000+ pilgrims are fed every day by volunteers. The Sikh convention is to dine together so as to break down hierarchies based on caste, class, gender and creed. As Guru Amardas, the third Sikh guru, advocated, it is through such activities that you can foster an egalitarian society. This is encapsulated in the Panjabi term, pehle pangat, phir sangat (first dine, then join the congregation). Donations go towards ensuring that there is enough provisions for langar for visitors all day, all year.
