Sesah is a story deeply rooted in childhood memories and the unseen struggles of parenthood. As children, we see our world as whole, untainted by the sacrifices our parents make to keep it that way. It’s only when we grow older that we begin to understand the weight they carried and the compromises, the silent battles, the choices they made in the name of love.

This film is my personal reflection on that realization. It’s about the grudges we hold against our parents, only to later discover that those moments of discipline, secrecy, or distance were acts of survival and care. The word sesah itself carries layers of meaning such as pain, hardship, and endurance, those words encapsulate the essence of what it means to be a parent who ‘gets things done’ by any means necessary.

Visually, Sesah embraces a child’s perspective, presenting the world as both magical and harsh, where the truth is hidden beneath layers of nostalgia and fragmented memories. It’s a tribute to the unseen, the unspoken, and the unconditional love that often goes unnoticed until it’s too late.
