Experiencing Interruptions?

Ser Humano

This is the music video for Ser Humano, Dat Garcia's last single of her new album "Las Fuerzas Almadas". This disturbing mantrap of powerful rhythms combines power and flow with lyrics that reflect on infinite human possibilities. Dat Garcia did the song and the video by herself as a performatic act.
Science and spirit blend together to create a delicious balance: the libidinal bases that direct human behavior. What makes people believe that they’re above all living beings?

Director Biography - Dat Garcia

Dat Garcia is an Argentinian singer, producer, film maker, activist and performer. García's music and activism focus on female empowerment and the vindication of non-hegemonic beauty. She has performed in music festivals such as Rock al Parque (Colombia), Amsterdam Dance Event, WOMEX Finland, FIMPRO Guadalajara and many others.

Dat is one of the most influential female producers of Latin American electronic music scene (Clarin - La Nación), and one of the spokeswomen and storytellers of the new women’s movement that questions traditional values and emphasizes body consciousness to construct a new more equal society.

She defines artists as the historians and witchdoctors of our time, which is why she tries to make visible the Latin American reality of women and marginalized minorities by using cutting edge aesthetic, scenic and musical resources.

Dat is part of this new generation of musicians who explore their roots, manifesting in new ideas, with new technologies. If until now the digital folklore club was almost exclusively for men, Dat Garcia enters to change the paradigm and make the voices of women heard, telling strong and deep stories that welcome us to his world of sounds and folkfuturistic aesthetics. She explores intoxicating downtempo beats, mixing hip hop with South American music styles accompanied by a strong aesthetic content, going from costumes to visual and artistic interventions of all kinds, making her show an artistic installation.

Recently on tour in Brazil and Colombia, where she stood out in Rock al Parque, Garcia’s been touring around the world with her show, conferences and workshops, conquering new audiences from all over the world.
