Maia Henkin is an award-winning New York playwright now based in Los Angeles. Maia's work has been produced in numerous theatres Off-Broadway and she was a resident artist of the Drama Desk Award-Winning Flea Theatre, under the direction of Sigourney Weaver and Jim Simpson. Scott Kaplan, the Broadway literary manager of Manhattan Theatre Club wrote, "[Maia Henkin] examines dark, difficult subject matter with nuance and compassion."
Out of 11,000 submissions, she was a Second Rounder at Austin Film Festival. She was also a finalist in the Big Apple Film Festival Screenplay Competition, finalist at the Oaxaca Film Festival, a semi-finalist for Los Angeles CineFest, and won "Best Pilot" at Golden Palms in Palm Springs.
She is bi-coastal between LA and NYC and repped by Abrams Artists Agency.
