Adrian Maquilan is a 26-year-old Filipino graphic designer and filmmaker currently based in Manila, Philippines. He graduated BA Film from the University of The Philippines Diliman and received MA Cinematography diploma under an Erasmus+ Program called Viewfinder which is a consortium of three universities from Hungary, Ireland, and Estonia which are SZFE, IADT, and BFM, respectively.
"Self-portrait" is a very intimate film but there is also a sense of universality in this personal film. At some point in our lives we are caged by fear of 'something' which comes in many forms. I just hope one day that we will all face what hinders our happiness without the world trying to take away our self-identity.
