Səkú

In the Ghɔmálá' language, the word "Səkú" is a borrowing from the English "School". In this documentary collage, students from Africa and its diasporas recount their experiences as "international students" in a strange land - France.

Director Statement

I would have liked to put "Et al.", that is to say "and the others" next to my name, I was the only one to make this documentary. So as a collective, we made what is called a collage documentary. It was made by a group of friends and members of the association of African students at the Sorbonne (AMECAS/Amicale des Etudiants Caribéens Africains et Sympathisants). We realized this project because we wanted to have fun. And we had fun doing what we hope will be seen as a short documentation of the life of black students in Paris after us.
