Yashar Nia and Michael Lam are a writer/director duo based in Toronto. After meeting in highschool, their first project together made them finalists at TIFF Next Wave Jumpcuts. Their complimentary skills; Michael as a cinematographer and Yashar as an editor emboldened them to make films that feature unapologetic, ambitious ideas with whatever resources they could scrap together. Since then, they’ve made a number of short films and music videos together leading up to their biggest project to date, “Seeing the Fourth Colour”, a psychedelic fever dream featuring a surreal visual aesthetic set to the album “Polygondwanaland” by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard.
